Hi from London

Probably the final London instalment from Laura: Hello again! I was sitting at work today, talking about Indian saris, and my boss Phil mentioned a sari he'd seen that was the colour electric blue. Of course, being an Australian child of the 80s, I started singing Electric Blues. Suddenly my colleagues were strangers; they did not know the words. They did not know the song. And they certainly didn't have a clue who Icehouse was. A thought came into my head: it's time to go home. So this afternoon, Simon and I paid for our flights back to Australia. Although ... more

Hi from London

Greetings everyone! Happy holidays to all my teacher friends (remember I’m not one of you anymore, so you'd better enjoy.) How are the rest of you? I know the weather has been quite mild, except for Toowoomba of course. We have obviously had some excitement in our lives this past week, although it’s certainly resulted in a desperate bout of homesickness. It seems everyone but us has met my lovely new nephew Charlie. More than anything at the end of this weekend, I'm drained. I took the week off work to work on my uni project (a website for our social club) and I got a good chunk done, but not enough. I can see me not sleeping much for the rest of semester. Hannah and I are about to buy a fantastically brilliant new digital SLR!! We are seriously looking at the Nikon D70s. We should be getting it very soon. I'm going to need to up grade the photo album on this site to cope with all the goodies!!

I hope this isn't a sign of things to come!

A week between posts that is. It's not. It was the first week of uni this week and I was busier than usual - that's my excuse. This post is just a collection of random things so maybe it'll be boring. There, you've been warned. My (very) belated new year's resolution this year was to not be hungry. A strange resolution you might think but one that I should keep. I frequently forget to eat. I'm sure that's weird for most people but it can't be that weird since Google returns 5,210 results for "I forget to eat". It just ... more
