Yesterday What Do You Suggest was featured on Information Aesthetics (thanks to Michael for submitting it) and then got picked up by Gizmodo. Needless to say, I thought that was pretty exciting. Since it's getting some attention, I thought I'd better post something more about it.

I remember the day in primary school when I was taught that I make hundreds of decisions each day, and mostly without even thinking about it. I remember almost being surprised to realise that choosing what to have for breakfast was all it took to make a decision - often it doesn't even take that much thought.
Twenty something years on and I think I'm only just realising the extent to which suggestion plays a part when making these hundreds or thousands of micro-decisions which when strung together tell the narrative of our days. The power of suggestion probably plays ... more

So with the Australian Federal Election coming up, the "new media" seems to be going a little wild. I thought I'd post a bit of a roundup of a few of the political websites I'm keeping an eye on.
Election Portals
Over the past couple of weeks there seem to be a bunch of sites calling themselves election portals or something similar. Overall, the election portal type sites I've seen covering the Aussie election have disappointed. Admittedly they're all quite new, and maybe they'll get better as content gets added, and I hope they do.

Wow! Yahoo has finally beaten Google at something map related. I've been waiting for Google to add something like this for ages, but Yahoo wins for once1.

Do I sound like I'm repeating myself?
I suddenly feel very sorry for hard working entrepreneurs like Shaun Inman who produce wonderful products like Mint. I've been considering signing up for Mint for a while and was set to do so in the next couple of months when I felt like I needed it. Well today I found out via Matt, about Google Analytics. Now I'm sure there are features of Mint that out do Google's efforts but I reckon Google Analytics will do the trick for me and many others.
