Are you a fan of good music?

Then get the new Triple J compilation of live recordings - Like a Version. Apart from having a title that reminds everyone of one of the two Godesses of pop music (the other one is Kylie Minogue) and appeals on so many levels it couldn't be more perfect, it's a damn good album.

The track listing is (original artist in brackets):

  1. Grinspoon - Drugs Don't Work (The Verve)
  2. The Pictures - Milkshake (Kelis)
  3. Jebediah - Raindrops Keep Falling On My Head (Burt Bacharach)
  4. Salmonella Dub - Get Up Stand Up (Bob Marley)
  5. Speedstar - There is A Light That Never Goes Out (The Smiths)
  6. Little Birdy - These Boots Were Made For Walking (Nancy Sinatra)
  7. The Cat Empire - Hotel California (The Eagles)
  8. End Of Fashion - Quicksand (David Bowie)
  9. Bertie Blackman - Tyrone (Erykah Badu)
  10. Goodshirt - Gouge Away (The Pixies)
  11. Love Outside Andromeda - Andy Warhol (David Bowie)
  12. Darren Hanlon - Don't Stop (Fleetwood Mac)
  13. Damien Rice - When Doves Cry (Prince)
  14. John Butler Trio - Message In A Bottle (The Police)
  15. Gorgeous - Little Suicides (Golden Palominos)
  16. Lazy Susan - Are You Old Enough (Dragon)
  17. Betchadupa - Sweet Dreams (Split Enz)
  18. Starky - Show A Sign Of Life (The High Strung)
  19. Serena Ryder - Illegal Smile (John Prine)
  20. Missy Higgins - Moses (Patty Griffin)
  21. Big Heavy Stuff - Hyperballad (Bjork)
  22. Donovan Frankenreiter - Stay Young (Gallagher And Lyle)
  23. Clare Bowditch - Hallelujah (Leonard Cohen)

So do yourself a favour and go here or to any good music store and pick yourself up a copy. The best tracks, in my opinion, are 2, 3, 6, 7, 23.
