A geek like this girl.

I just thought of an interesting new game if you're a geek like this girl. Laura is OBSESSED with the game six-degrees of separation. In this game (for anyone who doesn't know) you pick two (seemingly) unrelated movie stars and attempt to make a link between them in no more than six steps.

Eg. Tom Cruise is in Vanilla Sky with Cameron Diaz Cameron Diaz is in Charlie's Angels with Drew Barrymore Drew Barrymore is in 50 First Dates with Adam Sandler

And therefore there are three degrees of separation between Adam Sandler and Tom Cruise (I could NOT be bothered thinking of 6 steps). The idea is that there are no more than six degrees between any two people.

Well I propose, given Laura's extreme love of language (she is a teacher you know) a similar game using synonyms. It takes a while longer and is a good bit harder but here's the challenge:

Get from the word "given" to the word "creature" in no more than nine (9) steps by using synonyms. I have the solution so propose away!!
