Quality V. Quantity And Sarah Blasko

with one comment

As I’m sure everyone is well aware, there is a trade-off in everything we do between quality and quantity. In any given system, the faster you go or the more stuff you push out the further the quality of the output falls. This applies here as well. I’ve noticed that there is a continual backlog of draft posts in my system and it’s growing by the week. As a result, I’m going to tip the scales a little toward quantity over quality for a while and see what happens.

This applies in almost no way to Sarah Blasko, but I wanted to do a post about her album The Overture & the Underscore, so I’m going to try give them a vague link…here goes.

Sarah Blasko - The Overture & the UnderscoreAlthough the length of Sarah Blasko’s album isn’t great, the quality of the music is very high. I’ve had a copy of The Overture & the Underscore for a while now and it’s been sitting on my Zen Micro just waiting to be played. Until last week I hadn’t given it a good run at all.

Over the course of the last week I’ve listened to the album in full at least four times, and in part a few more times again. After the first listening mid last week I had Cinders in my head for two full days. Give it a listen, you seriously won’t regret it. You can check out all the tracks on the music page of her website. It is seriously fantastic music. Cinders gives me the most wonderful, nostalgic feeling.

And on top of all that, she is damn hot. I can’t believe I passed up the opportunity to get a signed copy from JB Hi-Fi a while back…bummer. Aidan got one though. She’s also doing Big Day Out 2006, I believe.
